I believe
that the sixty-six books of the Bible are God breathed
and is God's revelation to man. It is without error in
the original documents. It is the Word of God. I believe
that the Bible is my sole source of authority for my faith
and practice.
Since I believe the
Bible this is what I believe about the following:
God is the only true
God who exists eternally with no beginning or ending in
three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Man is God's image
barer, but because of Adam's sin man fell and became alienated
from God. Man inherited a sinful nature and cannot be
reconciled to God by his own strength.
Christ is the Son
of God who became a man without ever ceasing to be God.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin
Mary. Christ came to reveal God and redeem sinful man.
Christ provided redemption for fallen man through his
death on a cross taking our punishment as the perfect
sacrifice. I know that my redemption was made sure by
Jesus' literal resurrection from the dead. I know that
Jesus now is at the right hand of God being my Advocate.
I believe in the second coming of Christ, that he will
raise the dead in Christ and receive believers who are
alive at His second coming.
The Holy Spirit is
a divine person of the same nature as God the Father and
the Son. He was active in the creation, he convicts men
of sin, and he restrains Satan until God's purpose is
fulfilled. He performs a special work in regeneration,
baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling
and sealing them unto the day of redemption. The Holy
Spirit is the divine Teacher who guides believers into
all truth.
Salvation is the gift
of God. This gift is given to man by grace. Man cannot
earn his salvation by his own efforts. This gift is received
by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We cannot
lose this gift because it is kept by the power of God.
Though we confess our faith there in an incompatibility
if we are still living in sin. We are called into righteousness
and it is forbidden to make any presumptions that minimizes
the importance of holy works God has chosen us to do.
The Church is the
body of Christ of which He is the head. It is made up
of all the born-again persons who have been set apart
from the world united in Christ. There is no distinction
between race, social status, or sex. The purpose of the
Church is to bring God's word to man and interceding with
God on behalf of mankind. This mission of the Church is
in and to the world, not in and to itself.
Satan is a angelic
creature who rebelled against the Creator and became the
chief enemy of God and man. His work is wide spread and
destructive. The unsaved are largely under Satan's authority.
As far as the saved are concerned, Satan is in continual
conflict with them. He tempts them and seeks to corrupt
and destroy their testimony, and even their physical life.
Satan is not God's equal but only a creature and can do
nothing without God's sovereign permission.
Eternal life exist
for both the believer and the unbeliever. The difference
is that the unbeliever at natural death will be separated
from God in the lake of fire eternally whereas the believer
will be united and in fellowship with God for all eternity.
I believe in a literal
and physical heaven and hell.
Christian responsibility
is to live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon
our Lord and Savior. We should be always ready to witness
by deed and word to the truths of the Bible and to proclaim
the Gospel to everyone. We should be the sweet aroma of
salvation to those being saved. We should be the first
to reach out to the pour and needy, and to defend the
widow and orphan in the name of and for the sake of our
Lord.
